About Photologies
As a photographer, I believe that the best images come from the moments that happen naturally and without much planning or staging. I've always felt uncomfortable having studio portraits done. "Everyone, SMILE!" is one of my most dreaded phrases. These family photos were most often awful-- not good representations of the people, who they were or what their lives were about. Instead, they felt forced, tense, and were usually unattractive, too.
So, with the creation of Photologies Photography, I am setting aside space for other couples, families and individuals to have photographs created that reflect who they are without any forced poses, scheduled smiles, or other artificial interjections.
I work exclusively out-of-doors. Whether in the city or the country or in the wild, we will select a location that reflects who you are and takes advantage of gorgeous natural lighting and the spontaneity that comes with an outdoor adventure.
Before we begin our session, I will set time aside for a short phone interview, where we will discuss who you are as a family. If you've selected Styling Services as part of your package, we will discuss the palette of your wardrobes, specific wardrobe items and the inclusion of props. Even if you haven't selected Styling Services, we will chat so I can make some recommendations about locations that will best represent who you are and the things you value.
This individualized approach will create beautiful images that you are *guaranteed* to love. If you don't love at least the number of images in your package, we will re-shoot the session until you're happy. I am not happy unless you're happy and I will go the extra mile (and extra session!) to make that happen. I will capture your beauty, even if you don't always FEEL beautiful. You'll love yourself in the images I create.
I'm Colette. I'm a creative type. And yes, I have purple hair. I live in Yellow Springs with my husband, daughter, 4 dogs and a cat.
About The Photographer
I've been a professional brand photographer for over 9 years. I own a small children's apparel company (Urban Baby Bonnets), and began doing sessions with my daughter as part of my work for UB2.
Eventually, I started working with other kids, too, and just loved what the camera was able to capture. I look forward to working with you to craft beautiful, authentic images that show the real you.
